Troubleshooting a Spa Circuit Board

AIMAC Electronics has compiled this information for troubleshooting a spa/ hot tub/ jaccuzi with a printed circuit board (PCB).

1. How do you troubleshoot a circuit board?
Image result for fix my spa circuit board If you have no display on your topside control panel: check the cable for damage, following it right to where it plugs in, on the circuit board. Unplug it from the board and the low-speed pump will come on within 1 minute, on both systems. If that doesn’t happen, either the pump or the circuit board is bad.

2. What causes circuit board failure?

3. How can you tell if a circuit board is blown?
Start with a Visual Inspection: Often, circuit boards are damaged by electrical surges and there are telltale signs on the PCB. Look for a burnt spot, particularly on the power supply module or I/O and connectivity ports. Pay attention to cracked ICs, broken traces, and blown capacitors.
